HAARP stands for “High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program” and refers to a ionosphere research laboratory in Alaska. While being of particular interest to the US’ star-wars-project and new communication-technologies for submarines via ELF-signals (Extremely Low Frequency), critics claim that the experiments were not only making caribou walking backward, but might even seriously harm the earth’s atmosphere. As the worlds biggest “ionospheric heater” is located on the site, a focused application of this facility might result in an effect critics refer to as “sky-busting”.

Two articles from the late 90ties elaborate on HAARP: one by James Shannon called “HAARP, Weather War, And EMF Mind Control“, and another by Lisa Bush called “Ionosphere Research Lab Sparks Fears in Alaska“, which was also published by Science Magazine in 1997.

Nach dem Brand im Abschiebegefängniss am niederländischen Flughafen Schiphol im Oktober 2005, der elf Schubhäftlingen das Leben gekostet hatte, sind nun der christdemokratische Justizminister, Piet Hein Donner, und die rechtsliberale Ministerin für Bauwesen, Sybilla Dekker, zurückgetreten. Eine unabhängige Untersuchungskommission war zuvor zum Schluss gekommen, dass die Missachtung der Sicherheitsvorschriften durch die Behörden am Tod der Schubhäftlinge Schuld sei. So existierte weder einen Evakuierungplan, noch hatte keineR der diensthabenden BeamtInnen an einer Feuerübung teilgenommen; bei ihrem Eintreffen rund 15 Minuten nach dem Brandalarm stand die Feuerwehr vor verschlossenen Türen. Ausserdem wurde die unmenschliche Behandlung der überlebenden Schubhäftlinge kritisiert.

Native Instruments have just released a new softsynth called Massive, which is advertised as “sonic monster” and costs €300. Hopefully, a demo-version will be available soon. Additionally, NI has also released new versions of Battery 3, Absynth 4 and FM 8. While the plugins finally feature Apple’s Intel-CPU, the new features seem to be rather unimpressive on the first sight.

The people from New York-based Graffiti Research Lab have developed Throwbies, which are small, sticky LED-objects that stick to ferromagnetic surface. They have as well produced a video, showing how to “impress your friends and city officials”, as stated on the according DIY instruction website. It’s open source and seems perfect for tagging during nightly manifestations.
